Upon arrival I walked into the room, inspected it and found 2 bed bug casings on the boxspring after removing the bed skirt. I went and informed the front desk about it and he immediately went on the defense. I explained to him that I'm not retarded and I am a PCO (pest control operator) and have been for over a decade so I'm not just someone off the street. He said he was going to get his professional to look because bed bugs don't shed skin. I started to explain the "molt" process to him and he turned into Joe the ass. We'll have your professional come look and I assure you he will tell you what you want to hear because you are his customer and he needs to keep you happy. Don't stay here by any means.

During my stay at Thunderbird Beach Resort in Treasure Island, FL I encountered bedbugs in my room. I was sharing a room with my cousin, our room had 2 beds. On June 8, 2023 my cousin and I each observed at least one bug on each of our beds. I have 25+ bites on my hands, arms, legs, and back as a result. The hotel manager refused to admit that the insects were bed bugs even though I know they were as I have encountered them while working as a social worker. The hotel was less than accommodating and I worry that other guests may have similar experiences as it doesn’t seem like management cares to acknowledge the issue. We were moved to a different room and they stated that they would comp us for that night and that night only even though we had been sleeping in the room with bedbugs for 3 nights prior. Each morning prior to observing the bedbugs I would wake up with new bites. Shortly after stating they would comp that night our credit card was charged an additional charge for the new room in which we did inform the front desk and they stated it would be refunded. Management stated that an exterminator would inspect the room for an infestation and they later called and informed us that no infestation was found by the exterminator. My cousin and I spoke with the exterminator outside of the hotel and he stated that all of the bedding was removed from the room prior to his inspection so he didn’t get to check the bedding even though that is where we observed the 3 bugs. I requested that we be refunded for the nights spent in the room that had the bedbugs and was denied as there was “no sign” of a bedbug issue even though I have photos and videos of the bugs on the bedding and all of the bites that I have. The manager told me that she can say with “100% certainty” that the bites I have are not the result of any bugs from inside the room. At this point I was extremely frustrated as I don’t think it’s possible to be 100% certain of this, especially considering I had photos of the bedbugs on the hotel bed.
