Bedbug Reviews

Anonymous

Check-in: 09/21/24 Check-out: 09/25/24 Planned Check-out: 09/28/24 Staff handled the situation extremely incompetent with screaming at us and denies the situation. There were new guests the next days ahead and had the same room. They wrote a review on that they got bitten from bed bugs but somehow the review got deleted. Story: We stayed at a hotel where we initially planned to spend seven nights, but we had to leave after the fourth night due to bed bugs. I noticed itching and bites on the first morning but assumed they were mosquito bites. As it worsened, and since we hadn’t been to the beach due to illness, spending a lot of time in the room, we realized it must be something else. After some online research, we confirmed that the bites were unmistakably from bed bugs. We reported it to the reception, where there was a mother and her daughter. The mother was on her phone and showed no reaction when the daughter informed her about the bed bugs. The daughter came with us to the room, briefly lifted the blankets and pillows, but didn’t even check the mattress or other areas. Since bed bugs are small, that was not an effective way to find them. She said she would go talk to the manager. Shortly after, she called us and said they hadn’t found any bed bugs and that the bed was new. We then went to the reception to discuss it further. The mother had finished her "break" on her phone, and we told her the bed clearly wasn’t new. She responded by shouting at us, not listening at all, and constantly interrupting. I also raised my voice, hoping she would finally listen, which was a bad reaction on my part and didn’t help the situation. I tried explaining that even if the bed was new, bed bugs could come from previous guests, old furniture, the carpet, or other fabrics in the room. Her only response was, "Are you trying to blame our guests now?" I explained that I wasn’t saying that, but rather that just changing the bed wouldn’t solve the problem if the bed bugs were elsewhere in the room too. For these reasons, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone – the price is far too high, and the staff are incapable of resolving conflicts. We left the hotel because they had no other rooms available. This wouldn't have been an issue for us, and we would have switched rooms anyway, but after seeing how the staff treated guests, we left the hotel with a clear conscience. For people who prefer to stay in clean and modern hotels, I’d recommend paying the same or even a bit more for a different hotel. I used to read stories like this and could never imagine they were true.
