Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

March 16, 2019 Woke up 12:07 a.m to make my infant child a bottle. Turned on the night stand light. Made the bottle and returned to bed. Once sitting down feeding the baby I saw something move out of the corner of my eye so I kept my eyes on that spot and that's when I saw the bug. I immediately and kind of frantically got up and placed my child in her pack and play which I'd earlier set between the two beds in the room. I wasnt sure what kind of bug this was until it got out of the fold in the sheet and I could clearly tell it was a bed bug. I captured the bed bug in a bottled water and called management. Also called my cousin to run and help me get my bags out quickly. While on the phone another bed bug crawled out of the blanket as Management knocked on the door, I opened and I quickly showed him to the bug. He killed it with a tissue like it was nothing and proceeded to tell me someone must gave brought them in with them almost trying to convince me they weren't there before. He offered to change my room but I refused understand the huge health risk and exposure to risk of leaving with bed bugs in my bags because as far as I was concerned they were in all the rooms. We went back and forth with him saying they have precautions with the mattresses zipped bags around the cover so he began to pull the sheets up to show me, yet when he pulled the bed skirt corners and sides up the evidence of a bed bug infestation was evident and I told him I couldnt talk anymore just needed to get my things out and be refunded! I was refunded and left the hotel as quickly as possible. The room seemed clean and free of bugs upon arrival, just goes to show before staying anywhere even if youy paid over $100 US dollars CHECK THE MATTRESS AND BOX SPRINGS. BED BUGS ARE A TERRIBLY EXPENSIVE, HARD & VERY UNHEALTHY THING TO GET RID OF!! I AM VERY UPSET THAT QUALITY INN WAS NOT UP FRONT AS I SPECIFICALLY ASKED ABOUT, BUGS, CLEANLINESS OF ROOM LINEN, SHOWER & TOILET AT CHECK IN AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO ISSUES! THESE BEDS ARE SUPPOSE TO BE CHANGED DAILY, THERES NO WAY THIS WAS MISSED AND I AM POSITIVE THEY VERY WELL KNEW ABOUT IT. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE TO EXPOSE PEOPLE TO THIS KIND OF HEALTH HAZARD WHILE CHARGING THEM FOR A STAY IN WHICH A CLEAN, BUG FREE WITH ALL THINGS WORKING Hope this helps someone else avoid this nightmare:(

Quality Inn and Suites in Greenville, Alabama. Confirmation #3433244731. Sunday, July 11, 2021. Room 111. We arrived late and exhausted and went straight to bed. The room appeared clean and staff were friendly. When I awoke and began gathering our items, I saw a dead bug on the floor next to the bed closest to the bathroom. Alarmed, I then began pulling back sheets and blankets and found what I believed to be bed bugs. I've attached what I saw just on the first bed and then became so disgusted I immediately began gathering everything to leave asap. Once my family was in the car, I went to the front desk to tell them what I found, show her the picture, and told her I hadnt shared with my family as to not freak them out. I told her I worked in housing and understand the seriousness of the situation. She apologized and said she would make housekeeping aware. I again told her the seriousness of not treating bedbugs and my concern that they were aware as the type of fittings they had on the bottom mattress. I also told her I wanted a refund. She said I would have to go through booking.com to cancel the reservation first. She then walked to the room with me so I could show her the bugs. We left and went to a laundromat where I told my family what happened and we proceeded to put everything we could in dryers at high heat for two hour sessions. We also kept all of our other traveling items locked in the hot car as we sat in the laundromat hoping to kill any bugs that might be with us. I contacted booking.com, explained the situation, and canceled the reservation. No refund was ever given so I contacted the property. Talked with the same woman from the front desk who told me she never saw anything. Said she took housekeeping to the room as well and they took everything apart and there was nothing there. While I am very angry regarding this situation, I am even more concerned that there may be bedbugs in this hotel being spread and passed on to unsuspecting families.

How to get rid of Bedbugs at home

If you find bedbugs in your home you should remove as much clutter and as many items as possible from your house. Replace all bedding and examine the box spring for bedbugs.
