I thought at 3 AM the morning of March 14, 2018, that I had been severely bitten by spiders (never gave bed bugs a thought because the hotel appeared to be of a higher class than many. I complained first thing in the morning to the man at the front, and spoke with other desk staff. Each time I gave them a brief viewing of the numerous bites on my arms and neck. They did change our room to 109 for the 2nd night, but I heard people talking in room 122 that evening and was appalled that they would rent that room again unless it had been heavily treated for bedbugs. On my return home (Thursday, March 15) my dermatologist stayed late in the day just to see what was wrong. He immediately said "bed bugs!" Not only were the bites themselves terrible by then (the itching was driving me crazy), but the saliva from the bugs had gotten into my system and has raised havoc all over me. I have had to purchase special cream for the itching, and the doctor gave me two injections of a strong steroid. The manager Dean of the hotel did comp our stay. If he's worried about a lawsuit, I don't go that route. I'd rather protect other people and have some way to warn them. I have pictures to document some of the bites and other areas affected. My doctor will be pleased to release a copy of his findings in my visit. Needless to say, the pain and suffering from this nightmare is nothing I would wish on my worst enemy.
