I am a frequent business traveler to the Richmond area and have used this hotel many times. I was a guest on April 11, 2016 in room 111. In the evening I was resting on the bed nearest the window for about an hour until I decided to go eat. As I was walking to a local restaurant I noticed my left forearm was itching and had a bump from an apparent bug bite. I really didn\'t think too much of it at the time. Needless to say, the next day after sleeping in that bed I woke up with almost 20 bites all over my wrists and a few on one of my upper arms. I immediately told staff and demanded to be moved to another room. I even showed the general manager my bites. His response was that they would investigate. I had already investigated and didn\'t find one bug, but what I did find is a bedbug zip cover for the mattress. Clear evidence of a problem. Of course the manager saw me coming into the lobby and told me they didn\'t find anything. I said I really don\'t care I have bites all over me. The most enlightening thing about all of this is that room 103, which I was moved, had NO bedbug covers on either of the mattresses. This told me that only a mattress that has been identified as an issue got a special cover. Anyway, I am not happy. I paid full price, was basically blown off and will need to find a new hotel when I am down in Richmond for business. I had to throw all my clothes into the washing machine before I could even step into my house and I threw away the expensive gym bag I was carrying my clothes in just to be cautious.
