My husband and I checked into the hotel on 9/11/2024. When I woke up the next morning, I had several red, itchy bumps on my arms. I thought that I was bitten by a mosquito- however, the next morning, I had several more bites on my knee and arms. I then checked for bedbugs (tip from my daughter) and BINGO, in the seam of the mattress, box springs, I found bedbugs. I immediately phoned the concierge to report it, and was transferred several times to other departments Because no one came to the room, my husband was forced to go to the front desk to report. He was given a new room 1428 which also had bedbugs. I repeatedly asked to speak to a manager or head of housekeeping, who advised that they would send someone up immediately to the room and, I waited over an hour only to have no one show- and no phone calls from anyone. We went back downstairs to try and speak to someone in charge and we were rudely informed to go to the end of the line. Unfortunately, we were late to our friend’s wedding which was the reason for staying at the hotel in the first place. It was a nightmare, we moved our luggage again after returning from the wedding early, only to have to move our belongings to another room. At the time of checkout on 9/15, the hotel manager gave a $100.00 credit to our bill. I am so horrified of the way the entire situation was handled. Our trip was completely ruined and no one cared.

I stayed at the Moana Surfrider the night of 10/27 and the next day was covered all across my torso and arms with over 50 bed bug bites. I visited the doctor on 11/2 and they confirmed bed bugs and gave me a medicated ointment. I contacted management and received a phone call from the manager, then an emailed offer for 3 nights free stay. I requested reimbursement for my luggage and medical bills, and was sent to their insurance company…
