Stayed one night, woke up on feb 15th COVERED in bed bugs! Our money was refunded after housekeeping an the front desk confirmed bed bugs. I had to throw out our clothes but I'm still worried that we may have brought some home.

We checked in at 6:30 on Sep 23rd, went out to enjoy the beach around 10 pm came in and our 4 year old son laid down and fell asleep so I went to get him and move him to the spot he was going to sleep and there was a bug biting him, I immediately got it off and then noticed they were coming out of the pillow cases, under the the mattress, and covers. My husband stood up and he had one on the back of his shirt as well. He trapped one and took it to management and they basically told him they could kick us out of the room without our stuff for 12 hours with our 3 young kids and no where to go because we could not be moved to another room due to the risk of taking them with us. They offered a full refund but they require a credit card/debt card to do deposit and we used our debt card. They said it would take 3 to 7 days for money to go back on our card, which means we would not have the funds to go somewhere else so that left us one choice drive 500 miles back home after just arriving. My husband became upset and finally was able to get the manager to move us to different room. I would have been much happier with cash refund. My kids are so upset over this. Our 4 year old is so scared he's going to be bite again. They had the maintenance ppl come and look at the bugs and one even stated that was enough for him. We have never stayed here and will never ever again. I done some reading and found there were other issues with bed bugs in this hotel.
