Date was 8/10/2019, room 282, I called the front desk and told them there were two black windows spiders as well as a bed bug on the bed, I left for lunch and upon returning they had locked me out of the front gate and demagnetized my keys to my room. I was approached by the manger on site Luis Mejia I was told that they found ashes from a cigarette in the trash can so they were holding my items hostage until I gave them a credit card to charge for $200.00 fee for damage. I see now that this is standard policy on YELP for them when you complain it appears so not only is this extortion but its done under duress as they won't let you back in your room. I never smoked and they won't produce an incident report not refund my money and as you see on YELP there are many complaints for bed bugs other than me and pictures as well with bites. I have never started at a worse establishment and the owner/manger will retaliate if you complain and hold your stuff hostage. This Inn needs to be serious fined and shut down for their practices. I will be filing a law suit and I am putting your under notice of the bed bugs and the BBB. I hope you will investigate as this is very serious with the bugs and the lack of professionalism.

Found 5-6 bed bugs crawling around on mattress. Received four bites that swelled and turned into welts. Informed front desk and we were told there was no one there to inspect for us. After another half hour, I found another one so I trapped it in a plastic cup and tied plastic around it to seal it. Again, called front desk and we were told they would send maintenance to check it out and speak with us. Nobody showed up. We were also told we would be contacted later that day by management. This was on Wednesday morning February 26 2020. Never received a call. Finally after leaving a yelp review, Luis (the owner) left a comment back on my review and said that because I wrote negative feedback he would not give us a refund for the room. I don’t believe he sent anyone to inspect the room and if there were so many bed bugs crawling around in plain view I can only imagine there must be more in hiding. I believe there should be an inspection done so no other guest has to go through what I went through. I am very sensitive to bites and spent my vacation days in California miserable from the swelling and itchiness of the bites. I also had to waste money on anti itch products that I can’t even take back on the plane with me. Management did not take any complaints seriously and did not try to resolve the issue.
