Room 305 had bed bugs! I only stayed here because Southwest Airlines gave me a voucher for a hotel after I missed a connecting flight in Atlanta and had to wait overnight for the next flight out. I checked in at 10:30PM and was checked out by 6:30 AM the next day for an 8AM flight. The itching started around noon, and by 6PM, my upper left arm, right forearm, wrist, and hand, and my entire lower back were covered in huge red bumps and WELTS that itched like crazy. I spent the next four days of my vacation in Fort Lauderdale popping Benadryl and dousing myself in cortisone cream & spray. It was misery! The friends I was staying with in Lauderdale did some research on the appearance of my bites, and no doubt it is bed bugs. Thankfully my luggage had not been with me, but we still spent hours cleaning my computer bag, purse, and the one outfit I\'d been wearing on the plane (and therefore had to sleep in). We were so worried I may have carried bed bugs with me,but thankfully, we never had an incident. I should have known to be more vigilant in checking the mattress before sleeping there, as the hotel itself is a dump in a horrible part of town. There were two police cars out front when the airport shuttle dropped us off. I felt a little better when the woman at the front desk seemed nice and when I found the room to be somewhat clean. Still, if the airline hadn\'t put me here for free, there\'s no way I would have chosen it. And then I ended up with these bed bug bites and a vacation RUINED by the fact I had huge, ugly, red welts all over me that itched like CRAZY. I called the hotel and told them, and they didn\'t seem concerned at all. It\'s now 5 days later, and the bumps are still red and gross -- and I still itch! DON\'T STAY HERE!
