Sonesta ES Suites Originally Staybridge Suites - Hotel is now the Sonesta ES Suites Alpharetta/Avalon GA 3980 North Point Parkway Alpharetta GA Room 305 initial room Check in was 7/14/2021 with an original checkout for 7/20/2021 but I extended the stay to 7/29/2021. I was awaiting the birth of my grandson whose parents live in the Atlanta area. While I was at the front desk extending my stay, the hotel staff cleaned my room around Noon on 7/20/2021. I awakened 7/23/2021 with multiple bites on both arms, legs, feet, back, neck, breasts, and stomach area. I reported the incident to the shift manager immediately who contacted a pest company that confirmed the bugs were in the mattress/room. I couldn't sleep Friday night or Saturday night even though I applied cortisone cream to the bite areas multiple times. The hotel manager indicated she didn't know what to tell me to do but would reduce my hotel stay bill by 3 days. I was then told I had to wait for someone from corporate to call. On 7/25/2021 I went to a Wellstar Urgent Care for treatment and was given prednisone to take for the next 7 days. The physician informed me that I should put my luggage, if it was of cloth material, in large plastic trash bags to kill the insects. I've given the hotel liability claim company (Broadspire) the pictures taken on 7/25/2021 (after going to urgent care) & 7/30/2021 (upon my return home to Grandview, MO). The liability carrier wants me to identify a settlement amount. As of 8/21/2021, I have not provided an amount as I continue to investigate the issue. Search by Fulton County didn’t reveal any bedbug issues at this hotel within the last year. 09052021 Identified infestation of bedbugs for Staybridge Suites from Bedbug.com in August 2011. 01/08/2022 Found another report of bed bugs from 2012 customer review indicating multiple rooms had bed bugs @ her check in (3 I believe) before she was finally able to find a room without the bugs. The hotel insurance company is waiting on a settlement amount from me that meets the pre-determined settlement number. We are thousands of dollars apart.
