Upon arrival we checked the bed ( which I will be honest I don't normally do, but after seeing the condition of the room,...yeah) I pulled back and removed ALL the sheets and blankets to find a mattress that was filled with urine stains and lots of what appeared to bed bug feces. Next, I continued to search the edged of the bed to find a few dead bed bugs. I compared these to numerous online photos. I was so freaked out...luckily I did not bring anything in the room yet - we were there less than 15 minutes; so needless to say I made a beat line BACK to the "office." I was more than upset since this was a last minute reservation we made an hour earlier after realizing we were too tire to drive two and a half hours back home. The woman at the desk gave me a knowing stare and when I explained the situation she disagreed with me that there was a problem. She went back and forth about the whereabouts of the Hotel management and what they could do to help. I made it a point not to make a big scene despite my disappointment. Then, at last, after what seemed like an eternity , she explained the money was back on my card. So I left the office, went to my car and proceeded to call my bank - only to find out they did not reimburse me, but that DID double charge me now. -_- So I marched back to that tiny, hole in the wall office and asked what was going on and she continued to argue with me until I threatened to call the cops. She then pretended to be on the phone with someone - this was obvious as it was a cord phone that she, for whatever reason, kept hanging up and then having a conversation with a dial tone on. I could not believe this night mare. So I went back to my car and this time I did call the police. I called my bank again to re check. There was still no pending transaction. We went to Walmart to buy new clothes and throw away what I wore into the hotel room because I was so paranoid just from being in there and seeing the nasty bugs. Then, 3 hours later & no news from the hotel or the police, we headed back home ( 2 1/2 hours.) and it took another two days, but I did finally get the money back. Save yourself the trouble! Sleep in your car !
