Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

At 1:35 am I was awoken by being bitten on my hand. I immediately started searching for bed bugs. I found a small bug on my pillow. Because of my last experience with hotels and bed bugs, I called Marriott directly first. I said I did not want to stay at the hotel at all. I ended up being moved to another hotel at about 3am. I put the bug in a paper cup covered in the plastic wrap of a cup and sealed with my hair tie. Then I got my ziplock for my toiletries and sealed the bug in the bag. Because this was my second incident with a Marriott chain in the area in 3 months, I escalated this up the Marriott chain. I spoke to the Asst. Manager Clarence at 3pm when he got back to me. At this time, they are saying that they won't pay for dry cleaning of affected clothes until they confirm an infestation. They have shut down the room and have an evaluation scheduled for tomorrow.
