Stayed 6/28 - 6/30 in room 212 I just stayed 3 nights at the Holiday Inn Express in Wixom, MI. On the first night I noticed some small specs under my sheets on the bet. I thought nothing of it and brushed them off the bed. During the next morning I noticed a bug bite on my neck, which I thought was a mosquito because it was itchy. That evening before going out for dinner, I noticed several more small brownish specs on the bed. I picked up a couple and looked closely. They were bed bugs. I took a picture of one and magnified it to make sure, and it was a bug. I called the manager at the desk and sent 3 of the bugs down with a hotel worker to show him. They gave me a new room and said they would have a pest control company come check the room. a few minutes after I moved out of the room, I noticed a cart with clear plastic bags full of linens and towels in front of my old room. an hour or 2 later they showed me the report from the pest company. They said the room was clean - not signs of bugs. They clearly cleaned the room, beds, and changed the linens before the pest company came in. I kept repeating to the desk manager after he showed me the clean report, “what about the 3 bugs I collected and sent to you?” All he kept saying was “look at the report, the room is fine”. I asked him 3-4 more times “what about the 3 bugs I collected and sent to you?”. I never had my question answered. I demanded a full refund for the room, but he only refunded one night. ***THE REPORT IS USELESS! It is based on a cleaned up room, and doesn't include anything about the 3 bugs I sent to the manager. I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with Holiday Inn Express and will NEVER stay in a Holiday Inn again. I will advise anyone I know to not use Holiday Inn. I will also go onto tripadvisor.com and any other hotel review sites and tell my story and show my bug and neck bite pictures. I will also consult/alert the local health department of this issue. My bite which started out about the size of a dime is now swollen, itchy, and about the size of a silver dollar. It is still spreading. Needless to say, I did not sleep well the last 2 nights and was very uncomfortable. I think it is sleazy and deceitful for the management to clean the room prior to testing it. It is also insulting to show me such a fraudulent report and refuse to acknowledge the 3 bugs I sent down to them. You should be ashamed of your Wixom MI branch hotel and their handling of this issue. I will gladly send you a picture of the bug(s) and the bite on my neck. **On Wednesday 7/5 I received a call from someone at the Holiday Inn about the incident. It was just as frustrating. The woman would not let me talk and just talked like she was reading a script about the clean bug report from Pest Control. I could not get a word in as she kept talking louder and over me. I eventually just hung up. She was not planning on listening, just reading a script. Anthony Morsey
