1. This occurred on May 13, 2024. 2. We reported (with pictures) seeing bed bugs in person on this date. Our boys also had bites starting to show up after this time. We did stay at another hotel, which we told them, so we were on top of alerting and checking both places so we could figure out where they came from. 3. The other hotel we stayed at, while a bit frustrating at first, did everything in their power to prove the bed bugs did not come from their hotel. This one, on the other hand, kept flat-out lying to us about provable things, blaming the other hotel, and not wanting to admit it was a possibility. 4. They did end up having an exterminator come, and they did apparently treat the room (which was hot and humid and a great environment for bed bugs) but, per their word of mouth, the inspection was not thorough and was incomplete, unlike the other hotel we stayed at who stripped everything all the way down and even checked any neighboring rooms. We tried to contact the employee they had do this inspection, through the number they gave us, and he is ignoring our calls and will not call back to say how thoroughly he did his checks. 5. This hotel will not take any responsibility, even though we now know, after much digging and inspection and processing of the information we received, that the bed bugs could only have come from here, were only seen here (more than one of them), and were non-existent on our trip before this but three more were found in our truck after the stay (nothing prior, and nothing at our home or any other location we were at, even briefly). 6. Still, this hotel has been gaslighting us, lying to us, saying it's our fault, saying it's impossible they have bed bugs, saying it's impossible any visitor before us may have brought them in and they didn't notice before placing us in the same room (they said no one has stayed there before us). They are completely lacking empathy or responsibility for all that we have had to deal with since this incident—bites showing up; phone calls back and forth that greatly interrupted the work day at my husband's new job; having to strip down one-by-one outside so we could take showers and not risk bringing any bed bugs into our brand new home; losing medications like inhalers and epipens, as well as food, because of having to leave everything in the truck and fogging it then getting everything past 118 degrees; having to pay to have our clothing hot washed at a laundromat, in spite of severe allergies to detergents others use there, as well as other costs associated with this.... We really didn't want it to be them, but it was, and they need to take responsibility. I hope no one else ended up with them.
