On 12/6/2015, I checked into Grand Waikiki Hotel. The room appeared clean & had everything I needed. On 12/7/15, I wokeup with 5 bug bites, they were large welts. I ignored it at first & thought I may have got bitten by a bug at the beach. On 12/7/15, my wife & I wokeup with more bug bites. That morning, I found 1 bed bug on the wall near the mounted flat screen tv & then i located another bed bug on the wall behind my bedframe. I placed both bugs in a plastic bag & contacted staff. Management told me that the bed bugs could have been lying dormant in the room or could have been brought in with our suit case (which I did not believe). Initially, I was impressed with management\'s response, he washed our linens & then had an exterminator clean our room for approx. 4 hrs. On 12/9/15, I found 2 more bed bugs on the wall behind the bed frame. I contacted management again & he told me that he believed the bed bugs were coming from another room & they had issues with other tenants not taking care of their apt. I was advised that the exterminator could not come back for another day. Overall, I was disappointed because we were not given a new room until the problem was fixed. We shouldn\'t have had to waste a couple hours a day on vacation sorting through our clothes & belongings due to bed bugs. I believe it takes more than 1 or 2 times to get rid of bed bugs and if it is a problem in other rooms, then people should not be able to rent rooms on those floors.
