I found a bedbug crawling on the pillow of the opposite bed on the morning of 11/12/23. I brought it to the front desk and took pictures of it. I went back to the room and found blood stains on the mattress where I was sleeping the night before. I went to the front desk and let them know I found fresh blood stains on the bed so I was likely bit, but I had no idea the extent of it because it was too recent to know. The hotel had a shuttle service that was scheduled to bring me to the airport to pick up my car and the hotel was still laundering my clothes to prevent any spread of the bedbugs so I went and picked up the rental. When I got back I asked to speak with the manager to inquire about having my stay refunded and specifically requested something in writing from the hotel that it would take responsibility for any damages that resulted from the bedbug infestation. I explained to the worker that I own property with rentals so bringing this home could be disastrous. I was informed that the manager wasn't in but he told me that the manager would provide me with what I requested promptly. I did not receive anything I requested from the manager and still have not 3 days later. I called the hotel the following day to send pictures of the bite marks and other photos that I had taken as many dozens of bites had appeared on my body. I had to throw away my luggage carrier case, backpack, and CPAP machine carrying case, as well as buy new clothes so I could launder all of my clothes again (properly since I have no assurance of the quality job the hotel did). The hotel staff told me that morning that the manager would respond when he came after. I called several times that day after being given incorrect emails by the staff multiple times and after several hours of calling with assurances the staff continued to tell me the manager was not in. I finally called and filed a corporate complaint that night because I still had no heard any response at all from the manager as far as what he would do in response to my complaint. It is now 3 days later and I still have not heard anything back from the hotel as far as resolution. I was horrified that this happened, even more so because this is how they would treat a veteran staying at their establishment on Veterans Day.
