Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

We traveled from MI to stay at this hotel from 5/27-5/31. I noticed a bedbug crawl past my face in the late hours of 5/28. All surrounding hotels were completely booked. When I called the front desk to advise of my findings, they informed me that there were no other rooms available and they could not refund my money until their manager arrived the next morning. After hearing this, I advised that was an unacceptable answer and I wanted my money back before leaving their hotel. When the front desk then proceeded to tell me they would call their manager and their manager also refused to refund my money and stated that they would not deal with anything until the following morning. at that point I asked, "How do you normally deal with situations like this?" And her response was, "we just turn the heat up." I then began to yell. When I started to yell this then prompted the front desk to once again talk to their manager in which their manager told her to tell me that if I was not going to calm down they would call the police. At that point I've became even more upset and began to yell again and the police did in fact get called to the establishment. When the police arrived they came and spoke to me and completely agreed with me and my situation. They also tried to convince the front desk to give me the paperwork that I needed so that I could be refunded through the credit card company since their manager was refusing to do anything that evening. We gathered our belongings and we finally left the establishment after they refused to give us any type of refund. I had to drive around to three different cities until 5:30 in the morning looking for a different hotel to stay in as there were none available anywhere in the area we pulled back into the same parking lot Country Inn & Suites and we slept in our car in their parking lot for the evening. When I woke up in the morning I immediately called Priceline because that is to this hotel was booked through. I explained my situation to Priceline who then called the hotel and the hotel informed Priceline that they were not going to refund anything and that I would need to wait to speak to someone on Monday, which was Memorial Day a holiday. Because of what Country Inn & Suites said to Priceline Priceline will also not refund my stay at that particular Hotel. I gave up on that and we needed to rent a new hotel the next day. The only available Hotel option was almost an hour away from where we were staying. My anxiety and frustrations we're so incredibly High that I just decided to give up on fighting with the hotel and we finished out our vacation. Since returning to Michigan we have had to not only quarantine all of our Goods that went on vacation with us but everything will have to now be laundered and anything that can't be laundered has to be thrown away. I've awoken with bed bug bites all over my body and scents gone to the doctor for a diagnosis. And I'm still trying to get a refund for my stay there. This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with any hotel and I am sure to take this all the way to the top to make sure that no other guests ever go through the experience that I've just gone through. I hope that this helps someone else so that they do not have the same experience in the future. I still plan to contact the corporate office of Country Inn & Suites as well as Priceline and an attorney. What a terrible experience in the absolute worst customer service I have ever seen.

If you find bedbugs in your home you should remove as much clutter and as many items as possible from your house. Replace all bedding and examine the box spring for bedbugs.
