2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

Was skeptical about staying here....woke up at 1am...now i know why...had the sense to get up and look around...saw nothing unusual until i was about to get back in the bed...from under a pillow comes a bed bug moving across the sheets...probably looking for me. Cautiously...got a cup and caught him..the bug..and after gathering my belongings..took that sucker to the front desk clerk....and he said it looked like a tick...i refused to take another room and asked for the hotel information in case i took some back to Virginia so that they could pay for the extermination since the problem started here...there.
