Arrived on 7/24 checked into Rm 223 found live bedbug on 7/25. Brought the actual bug down to Mgmt. I was told regular bug checks are done and they were done in that room earlier that month. Manager presented it as an isolated incident. Offered another room. Informed me that new room would be checked. We then moved all our things ourself. Did I mention we are in handicap room. Was then assigned to Rm 323. All seemed well. As we're in Texas at first thought I had Mosquito bites. After a few days it was clear it was bed bug bites. I tried unsuccessfully to find new accommodations in our price range but could not since I needed handicap accessible room. We were forced to stay. I must state that cleaning staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I believe the issue is with upper mgmt not doing enough exterminations to address issue. Rooms and lobby appear to be clean, breakfast more than sufficient, good price point and excellent coffee. Big issue is bed bugs and what sems to be managements lack to acknowledge their responsibility to ensure you sleep without becoming a bedtime snack for the bugs.
