We checked the room for bed bugs before we slept but found none of the regular evidence. Woke up at around 3 am and my husband was covered in bites as was I. There was one bed bug in the bed that we saw and several on the headboard. We didn’t see evidence under the mattress however. This occurred on August 10th 2017. We informed the front desk and she told us that this has only happened once or twice. She wasn’t willing to give us a new room or refund, despite the fact we had picture evidence and bites. We called Priceline since we had booked through them and got a direct refund. We went back to the front desk and told them we needed a new room at least till morning and we’d check out and go elsewhere. Front desk finally allowed us after realizing I was pregnant and an attorney who planned to not go away till given a new room. We got moved to the third floor and saw no bugs there and slept for the remaining 3-4 hours till checkout and then we went to a new hotel for the remainder of our trip. When we asked management what to do with the bugs we found or if there was a policy or procedure we were asked to merely just flush the bugs we found. We left them killed on the counter instead. We contacted corporate and let them know as well but have not heard back.
