Two of us stayed in this hotel February 16-21, 2025 room 114. The morning of 2/17 my friend broke out in hives. After 4 nights the hives were getting worse and the only cause we came up with was an allergic reaction to the detergent the hotel used. (I was in a different bed and had no problems so we assumed it was what we suspected). We talked to the front desk and the employee offered her personal beach towels from her home for my friend to sleep on. The fifth and final night, sleeping on the employees towels, did not help. After being home for 3 days (2/24) I also broke out in hives. I had mistakenly taken a double dose of my medication 2 days earlier so I thought it must be an allergic reaction to one of the pills. I made an appointment with the doctor but none of my medications would have caused a reaction since I had been taking them for a couple of years. None the less the doctor prescribed 3 different antihistamines. I started researching what could cause something similar to hives. Among many reasons the one that stood out was bed bug bites. They can appear up to 14 days after being bitten. I then started reading reviews on hotels.com and google reviews and found several other reviews that complained of bed bugs and, surprise! they also noted they stayed in room 114. The responses by management to these reviews were outrageous, almost comical. He called the people liars, suggested they see a psychiatrist and optician, said they weren’t intelligent enough to shut the door to prevent bugs from entering the room, accused other occupants of sneaking in a flea infested dog, and one of my favorites, people were mistakenly reviewing a different hotel. I called and talked to the manager and he claimed to have no knowledge of the problem and said he would have the general manager call me. No surprise that that didn’t happen. Management absolutely refuses to accept responsibility or blame and continues to book these rooms to other unsuspecting travelers. Please, please look into this. Read the reviews. I have pictures of my and my friends many bites. This has been a miserable 2 weeks with no sense of relief for these hundreds of bites! Thank you for reading this long message.
