I felt a bug on my neck while sleeping in room 612 at the Hilton Garden Inn Nashville Downtown on 10/7/2021. It woke me up at 5 a.m. I turned the light on immediately. I saw blood on the tip of my finger where I had smashed the bed bug on my neck. I got out of the bed. There was a small bug in the bed, too. When I pulled the fitted sheet out from under the mattress an adult bed bug appeared. I immediately notified the front desk person by phone. I showered, pack my clothes and left the room. The front desk person gave me the one night free (I had been there 2 other nights). The front desk person did not know what to do. They said maintenance was going into the room now that I had left it. I had to ask the front desk person for plastic garbage bags to place my pajamas in since I did not want to contaminate my other clothes (being cautious). The manager was not there or notified. I was told the manager would be there at 9 am. I was given their business card. I left and went to another hotel in town. I never was called by the manager. I notified my work travel agent when I got to the new hotel.
