As we drove up to the hotel it was not what we expected, however, we were only staying for a short time to rest our heads. We should have left as soon as we opened the door to our room. Instead we thought we would go to Walmart which is a 2 minute drive away and pick up some inexpensive sheets and blanket. We have not dealt with Bed Bugs before just heard stories, so we weren't looking for what we now know as evident signs of Bed Bugs (ie. dark stains on edge of boxspring). The sticky bug trap under the night stand should have been a red flag as well. We went to bed and I woke up in the middle of the night half asleep and told my wife that it a bug was on my arm. Not thinking any more of it, fell back asleep. When we woke up in the AM, We noticed several red blood marks on our sheets(yes our blood from being eaten alive). We tried to rationalize what it could be as our sheets were brand new, but still didn't understand. As I was packing things, I saw a bed bug on the bed that quickly scurried away. Finally we started putting 2 and 2 together, and sure enough, moved the bed away from the wall and our worst night mare was coming to life. So disgusting. We immediately ran to get to the hotel manager who said he was coming to look. After about 5 minutes we went back to the lobby and asked if he was going to come and he said no. Finally, he came over to our room, and said that he keeps the rooms clean. He didn't say too much. We asked for our money back. He said he would. Apparently he was not the manager, so when we went up to get our money, his boss said he would not give us our money back but a free nights stay...LOL...Are you freaking kidding me. So here we are several weeks later and I had a severe allergic reaction to the bites and my wife a little more mild. We both look like we were a feeding ground all night long as these bites are all over our body. My reaction was so bad that I had to go to the Dr. He indeed confirmed they were bed bug bites. It sucks that there is not really anything that makes them go away or feel better. We are freaks now. The slightest little touch on your skin makes you think there are bed buds. It has totally messed with our heads. Praying we just haven't brought this horrible bug into our home. We have have left a review on Trip advisor that never got published. Also, it was interesting that we could review all the other hotels we have stayed at in Hotels.com, yet Rodeway Inn we could not leave a review. Totally bogus. We sent an email to the Health dept. in Ogalalla, NE, but still have not heard anything now over a week later. Hotels.com only wants to give us 50% off another nights stay at another hotel. I'm beyond mortified that hotels are allowed to get away with this and the place not shut down until they get rid of the bugs., We have pictures and video to prove our stay is legit and that we indeed did have bed bugs and the nasty bites to prove it. Don't go anywhere close to this place!!!!
