August 24 - 26, 2023 We noticed the bed bugs 8/24 but have never experienced bed bugs so we were not sure what it was. We had not been in the woods or outside much. We realized it was bed bugs on our way home 14 hour drive and after staying at a relative's house. It is shocking how many hotels in Rochester have bed bugs. People are coming to Mayo for treatments, etc. and the last thing they need is bed bugs... traveling with them. They reimbursed us when we reported it but that is the least they can do. The health department says if the bed bugs are in our room, they are in the rooms next to it, across the hall, upstairs... They need a better way to clean and ensure there are no bed bugs. We bought a steam cleaner 212 degrees and cleaned our car, luggage, etc. and hot wash and dryer for all clothing and blankets.
