We arrived at the hotel on the 3rd of July for the fourth of july celebration and upon our arrival we checked over the room thoroughly because that is what we do wherever we go. Disassembly of beds removing headboards if possible to check behind them and checking around the room very very thouroughly. We didnt find any signs of them at the time. NONE. we then brought in our baggage in and went on our way to enjoy our day in Traverse city. After we returned to the room to go enjoy the pool and hot tub there was a bed bug climbing the wall by the bathroom. We squished it and there was dark blood that came out of it which means some unlucky soul was its meal, luckily none of us. They offered us a different room but I still wouldnt be able to sleep there, so I declined. Never the less, We got the hell out of there as fast as we could and bagged everything up so we wouldnt bring it in the house when we got home. The staff didnt seem to surprised.We actually asked them to come up to the room to see it but they said "no". We took pictures and showed it to them upon leaving and they didnt seem too surprised and just said sorry but not very convinsingly.
