Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

668 Main Street Ogunquit, Maine 03907 On October 8, 2021 We stayed in room 15. Around 11:30pm we both saw something move. We wiped down the headboard and find numerous bugs. Upon looking it up on line we discovered it was bed bugs. We found approximately 30. It took an hour to reach the owners. They moved us to another room for the night. The next day they validated that the room had bed bugs and 2 weeks prior they had it fumigated and we were the first people to rent since. We had to spend part of our vacation in a laundromat and upon coming home had to take a day from work to wash everything and clean/vacuum the car. No other offer made to help or pay for the time and inconvenience. I have never experienced bed bugs before, I'm 58 years old, but I know these things happen. The most frustrating and aggravating, is that they knew they had bed bugs and they didn't check before renting a room and did not offer any other compensation.
