Found a bedbug crawling up the wall at approximately 1:30 am on Friday, April 1st. Stuck the back of a sticker to it so that I could peel it off the wall. As I was examining the bug on the sticker, I saw a second one crawling up the wall. I pressed the sticky part of the sticker to that one also, so I ended up with two bedbugs on the back of a sticker, with their legs pointing out (I have pictures as well as a video.) I called the front desk, and they sent a security guard up to the room. They ended up moving us to another room, but: The first room that I had booked was a handicapped-accessible room with a roll-in shower, while the second one did not have an accessible shower. Not to mention that packing all of our things up, moving to another room, examining that room for bedbugs, and unpacking once again took us more than 1 hour. We didn't (try) to get back to sleep until 2:30 am on Saturday. The hotel's response was really disappointing: They disputed the fact that what I had on the tape were bedbugs at all, they discounted the inconvenience that we suffered, and they didn't agree to cut the bill until I had complained for the 4th time! Not please with the Stamford Marriott. Also, many, many phone calls to "Donna," the head of Loss Prevention for the hotel, were not returned, and that was after I was told that I needed to speak with her only.
