6/10/19 | Management including Choice Hotel handled the situation poorly. Please see below. Monday 6/10 at approximately 10:00PM, I stayed at Quality Inn/Econo Lodge Hotel in Paragould, Arkansas located at the NE corridor of the state. I traveled over 600 miles on my Harley-Davidson motorcycle and was ready to have a great night’s rest. I like to inform loved ones where I am for the night. At 10:22PM, I was in my room and texted a picture of the rooms phone, which indicated the name, address and room number of the hotel. At about midnight, I began to itch but I was so tired that I didn't want to get out of bed. I thought it was an allergic reaction of some sort; ignored the itchy feeling until I had no choice than to turn the lights on and check. Part of my legs were red and irritated, which made me look for bugs but I couldn't see much with the dimmed lights. When I looked at the bed, I saw black spots...I also noticed one moving quickly. I used my phone camera to magnify the area and surprisingly, I had been lying in bed with BUGS. After a quick Google search, I was able to confirm they were BEDBUGS!!! I immediately took pictures and videos and started taking off every piece of clothing I had on. My carry-on bag was on the bed, which I immediately placed in the bathroom. I got dressed and went to the front counter and told the lady the room was infested with bedbugs! She said, someone must have brought them in with them. She was nice enough to give me keys to another room but when I walked in, I still felt as that room could be infested as well since it was the room right next store door. And, it had a common door to access either room (Room 101 and 103) This room had a common door inside to access either side. I packed my belongings and went once again to the lobby to speak with the lady at the front desk. I told her it was too late for me to leave the hotel; I was tired and I didn't want to ride to another place. I asked her if it was OK for me to sit at the corner of the lobby until morning time and she said that was fine. She didn't offer me a pillow or blanket and never said another word to me the entire night. I dozed off for about 10 minutes at a time and kept waking up from itching. Furthermore, any sound or movement and it made me cringe. That morning during shift change, a very nice young lady approached me. I told her what happened, showed her the videos and pictures and she was very apologetic. She offered breakfast and was very concerned over the situation. After a short while I asked if she had informed anyone, which she said "YES"; she had notified the manager. I left the hotel and was hoping to receive a call from someone at Quality Inn/Econo Lodge Paragould but....no one called. I waited until that evening and decided to send an Email to the manager "Ali Syed" and included others within the Choice Hotel chain. I thought someone would reply with apology but received nothing instead. Quality Inn and Choice Hotel should NOT be in the hospitality business if they are going to ignore people's concerns and experiences that happen at their hotels. Since they didn't seem to care, all I can do is spread the word and share my story with pictures and at least one video to make them aware of what may happen to someone else; particularly at the Paragould Quality Inn hotel in Arkansas. The fatigue and consequences from this experience created problems during my travel to Kentucky. This included having to stop about every 30 minutes or stopping at drug stores to buy allergy and itch medication to ease the itching sensation all over my body. It was a miserable situation; I would not wish this on anyone! Please share with everyone and get the word out. Quality Inn/Econo Lodge Paragould, Arkansas.
