Reaching out regarding our stay in Raleigh North Carolina at the crab tree Marriott February 9-12th 2020 . We checked in on Sunday night February 9 and the first thing I ALWAYS do is check mattresses for bugs ! When I lifted up the covers to check I was shocked to find no preventative care and bed bug mattress covers covering the mattress . On the early (5am) morning on check out day , my husband got up to use the restroom and noticed there was a bug on his pillow . We took the pillow with bug on it to bathroom to see in the light . Then got a tissue and when I squeezed it there was blood . We immediately contacted the front Desk and 2 individuals came up and assessed the situation. They said it was a confined bed bug . We were given trash bags for all our belongings to transport back home . We packed up and left immediately. At check out we were given our last night stay comped So they said . They all were very nice and shocked and also I emailed the pictures I took of the bug and sent it to them .(the workers ) Even though they offered our last night free it has been a hassle and stress to deal with . We have never seen these things nor do we want them in our life !!!!! Overall the hotel was beautiful and clean but this just ruined it for us . Fortunately we don’t have any bites thank goodness however knowing it was there and seeing it makes us sick. We are taking every precaution to NOT get these bugs !!!!! And we want you to be aware if at any point we have an issue due to this stay we would expect you to take responsibility and take action . We just want other people to be aware and to be warned so it doesn’t happen to anyone else .
