I checked into the hotel about 8:30pm on 7/23/2017. I went out for about an hour to grab a bite and some drinks since I had booked the room for 2 days. When I came back, I got comfortable and watched TV in bed. I started noticing that I was itching but figured it was due to detergent used to wash the sheets. Approximately 11:30pm I decided to go to sleep. Roughly 15 minutes afterwards, I felt something crawling on my forehead. I brushed it off then turned on the lights to see what it was. First thing I seen was a blood smear on the pillow beside me that I wasn't using. Then I flipped it over and to my horror and disgust was several bed bugs in the fold of the pillow case. I immediately got my stuff together and went to the office to tell the clerk that I needed another room for the night. This was roughly around 12am on 7/24/2017. The clerk asked what was wrong with my room. I showed him the video of the bed bugs. He then stated that they wasn't there prior to my check in and basically insinuated that I placed them there. He then refused to give me another room for the night and told me that I needed to leave. I told him since I was a paying customer that I was just gonna stay there in the lobby all night and wait for the manager to come in at 7am and that I was gonna show the video to every customer who came into the office because every one of those people deserved to know about the filth that they were sleeping in. He then became belligerent and called the White House Police Department to have me removed from the property. So I waited for them to arrive and explained to them what happened. The clerk never gave me any paperwork showing that I was refunded for the room. He also refused to give me the name and number of the manager. The police officers were able to get the receipt for me and the manager's number. Unfortunately the manager is also the owner of the hotel, so I have no one else to report them to.
