We stayed at the Shell Island Resort last night and found bed bugs in our bed in the morning. There were several found who had been feeding and were engorged, along with the obvious dots of blood on the sheets. We put a couple of the bugs in a ziploc bag and reported it to the hotel manager. She confirmed that they were bed bugs but said that she had not been aware of any issues beforehand. We checked out immediately and were given a full refund. Of course, our vacation had to be cut very short and now we have to throw out much of the things we brought along.

July 21, 2018 When we reported the bed bugs management sent someone up immediately but said they were "hardback beetles" but moved us to a different room anyway. When we got home and confirmed the bugs were bed bugs and that the bites were bedbug bites they apologized profusely, said the room was exterminated and then did not charge us for the 4 night we stayed there.

We stayed at this hotel 3/23-3/25, we noticed that when we were in the bed our skin was itching but on check out day there was a bed bug crawling on our pillow. We immediately called down stairs and the general manager and a front desk staff member came up and said that they would contact their pest control person and get back to us later in the day. I then stumbled across this report back in July 2018 from the same exact room that we were in. We are now waiting for the general manager to call us back after their pest control person comes. We have a picture of the bug and have compared it to a picture of a bed bug and this is definitely a bed bug and room 404 definitely has bed bugs.
