I stayed in room 2653 in the East Tower at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Chicago, IL. My stay was from Sept. 18-21, 2023. I originally noticed some bites/bumps on my hand the second day I was there, but didn't think anything of it until the night of the 20th when I noticed some more bites on my back. Because both sets of bites looked similar I Googled bed bug bites and learned that they are often in a straight line, which both sets of bites I had were. I called the front desk and they relocated me to a room on the 31st floor in the East Tower, however I found signs of bugs in the room as well (smashed bug/blood smear on the bedframe under the mattress.) They relocated me again to the 12th floor in the renovated West Tower. They also offered to send my clothes out for cleaning the next day but unfortunately I was leaving that morning and couldn't. They said they would follow up which they eventually did after a week, however they said the company they use to investigate didn't find signs of bugs in either room which just couldn't be true. Because 1. I had received bites in the first room and 2. I had seen the blood smear which was clearly from a smashed bug in the 2nd room. As far as I know I haven't brought the bugs home so I won't be escalating the issue for now but don't want others to suffer the same fate...
