On December 31, 2017 at 08 AM. We found three bed bugs in our king size bed. I then went downstairs and reported what I had found to the front desk. He was apologetic but did not know what to do. He then spoke to the head of housekeeping and she looked into moving rooms. They however did nothing in helping us move rooms or in packing up our belongings or heating up our stuff to make sure we did not bring any bugs home with us. When I asked to speak with a hotel manager I was told that he was not there and I would have to wait to Tuesday (after we had left and after the holiday to speak to the manager.) On Tuesday the manager did not contact me and on Wednesday I left messages for the manager and was not contacted on Wednesday I was finally contacted by the assistant manager and I was told that this was there standard for bed bugs that they were not allowed to help the customers with their belongings and we moved rooms. She did offer to take the clothes that we left in the hotel and dry clean them and send them back to us in Missouri. I stated that would have been nice to know before we left since I went to Walgreens and bought trash bags and Ziploc bags for what we did take home and threw away even more stuff because I did not know how to treat certain things. I also had to get my car detailed to make sure nothing was left in my car. The scariest part of this whole thing is that it was probably the cleanest room I had every stayed in before checking to see if there was any bugs and we did not see any when we first got in the room.
