Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

10/23, 10/24: My hotel room was exceptionally dirty. I took pictures of my phone, desk, ironing board.. and I put my luggage on a luggage rack. Didn’t unpack anything. Put my bad on the office chair. Shoes on the ottoman. Woke up for the gym and found an actual bed bug in my bed.. took pictures and video. Told the front desk. Took all my stuff into the bathroom. Took my clothes to the laundry/dryer. While those were drying I went through the rest of my stuff with a flashlight and a hair dryer.. all the crevices.. pockets.. sides.. everything inside out. Couldn’t find another bug in the sheets or in my stuff. Admittedly didn’t look super hard through the sheets.. but my stuff I went through twice.. showered really well.. shook out the clothes I’m wearing.. went through everything again. Thankfully I’m staying somewhere else tonight, in Charlotte. I’ll repeat this whole process again there.. and then again when I get home.
