Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

11/28-11/30/19 I stayed at the Grand Victorian Hotel on 11/28 and 11/29. This was supposed to be one of the nicest hotels in Branson, and sure is one of themost expensive. On 11/28 after we had had checked into the room we found bed bugs in the room. All of our luggage was already in the room. I asked for a new room due to bed bugs and showed the desk clerk actual bed bugs in a cup and they put us in a different room (after waiting several hours) and didn’t charge us for that night (11/28), but I had to pay for the 2nd night (prepaid and would not refund). When we got home, we brought in items and put in the freezer what would fit and washed the clothes (what we brought from home and what we purchased for Christmas gifts- all our family will be getting prewashed clothing this year, how tacky) on the hottest setting and dried on the hottest setting until all the clothing was washed so they wouldn’t transfer any bed bugs into our home. We parked the car outside in hopes the freezing temps would hopefully kill whatever bugs hitched a ride with them but It didn’t get cold enough, so we also had the vehicle sprayed by an exterminator as soon as they could which was 12/6. When I called the hotel and talked to the manager about the situation and the pest control bill she asked me to email her a copy of it which I did, on 12/11 I got an email from Cathy saying she had forwarded it to the general manager. Steve the GM called me at 2:40 on 12/11 and told me how ridicules of a claim this was and that I wasn’t very smart because I had gotten taken by the pest control company and that he would in no way reimburse us for the bill. I would like to be reimbursed for the spraying and the night I was charged for but was unable to sleep out of both fear and itching horribly, but more over I want to make sure nobody else has this problem at this establishment. I was treated very poorly on the phone with the GM. I hope you can have more of an impact than I did so that know one else will have to deal with this problem. We even ran into a prior cleaning lady at the hotel while shopping at the outlet mall, who told us that recurrent bedbugs were the reason she had quit working at that hotel. When speaking with management, they just dismissed her concerns as a rouge disgruntled employee...even though we did not have her name to identify her. She had actually said that otherwise the staff was treated well (so I doubt she was that disgruntled).

How to get rid of Bedbugs at home

If you find bedbugs in your home you should remove as much clutter and as many items as possible from your house. Replace all bedding and examine the box spring for bedbugs.
