We arrived in our room Friday, August 25, 2017, room 2211. On Saturday we ventured out a while and upon returning, saw that towels had been replaced but beds were not made. I went to straighten the bed we had slept in and noticed blood around the bottom of the sheet on my husband's side. I asked him if he had a bite or cut or anything and he said he did have a small place on his leg but we really didn't know what it was. (I should mention that upon arriving in this room we noticed there were NO encasements on either mattress or box spring, which really made us uneasy). Fast-forward to Saturday night, I got up and went to the bathroom and my husband just happened to wake up and turn on the lamp in our room. As I walked back in he was startled by something on the bed and I looked and sure enough, huge bedbug. At that point I called the front desk and the man came up immediately, and he was very apologetic and told us he didn't have any other rooms. That's ok, we weren't in the mood to stay after that, anyway. As we packed up, we woke up our children who were sleeping in the living room of the condo. One was on the couch and two on an inflatable bed we brought with us. We were packing and my daughter (who had been asleep on the couch) showed me her leg....YEP.....big bite on her thigh. I immediately took a photo to show the front desk. The man at the front desk was waiting for us and he had already called the manager who immediately refunded our money for both nights. I showed him the photo of my daughter's leg and he recommended that we take everything straight to the laundromat and treat everything with high heat, which we did. So we loaded up, bought plastic bags, went to a laundromat and heated (and ruined some) clothing, shoes, etc, packed everything in plastic bags , and drove home. So from about 12:30 am to 5:30 am, we spent the night with our kids in the car and being dragged in a laundromat and driving home EXHAUSTED. We had big plans for the next day (today) and so we are all bummed out and disappointed and quite frankly not happy that we had no choice but to put brand new clothing in high heat in the dryer and now things are ruined. The staff were very professional and I truly appreciate their efficiency in trying to make it right. However, I'm willing to bet that tonight they will book yet another unsuspecting guest into the same room. Yes, we got a refund, but is that good enough??? What about the next people who stay?? And our peace of mind? My nerves are a wreck and my kids are terrified.
