Date occurred: 6-21-24 and total cost $285.00. Bought a room for a concert happening at the Amphitheater in Tampa FL, room cost $185.00 with a holding of $100.00 for a deposit on any damages that could be made in the room, making it a total of $285.00, got to hotel around 6pm on 6-21-24 to check in, reserved a king room and did not have one available, agreed that 2 doubles was okay. Get to room and was rushing to go to concert that started at 7, so dropped off our things and left. so never really properly examined room, get back to room around midnight to discover eggshells from bed bugs, live bed bugs, bug wings on both beds, insect feces in corner of the room next to beds. Packed our stuff went downstairs to resolve this issue and front desk gentlemen denied the bugs even with us showing him photos. He never offered another room as they were sold out, asked for a refund and denied he could do it. We left the hotel to sleep at a rest stop and called the manager that same morning on 6/22/24 and stated he can not give us a refund BUT DID NOT DENY the bed bugs. We were never in that room more than an hour total from checking in to getting back in room. The manager said he would email us and never did and never returns calls. He claimed if we complained when we first checked in we could get a full refund but explained to him we were there to drop our things off and left to the event. Only till we were ready for bed we find the issue. As of now management will only give us a $100 dollar refund and responsible for the remaining balance. We advised him this is a health violation to the public and to up charge a room at that cost in that condition and not to be fully refunded gives a bad name to La Quinta / Wyndham and should not be open to the public. I have photos of the room as well.
