The incident occurred on 10/24/2024 - 10/25/2024 at La Quinta Inn in Somerville/Wyndham in room 409. The Hotel was reasonably clean from visual inspection, though when going to the fourth floor I smelled a strange odor. After returning on Thursday evening I went to sleep and had trouble sleeping throughout the night, I wasn't quite sure why until I awoke the next morning . After I woke up, I noticed a small bug (not fully matured) that appeared to be filled with my blood. I captured a photo of this bug and noticed it was a bedbug. After letting my friend know, I took the bedding off, a second bug hopped onto the mattress and I captured a picture of this one as well. I was unsure if the mattress was infested, as I didn't notice any eggs or other bed bugs, though its possible the bugs made their way through the wall, granted the mattress was not the cleanest and had some staining. After reporting this incident to the hotel they refunded the second night and is in the process of refunding the first. They mentioned they had an exterminator on site at the time, which made me believe that there could be other infestations they are dealing with. They were polite about this matter, though I had to go through quite an endeavor to clean my belongings as well as throw away my suitcase. This was an awful experience and now I learned the lesson that going for a slightly cheaper hotel option is not a good call. This hotel was advertised as a 3 star, though I would say it offers more of a 2 star experience.
