I woke with a few bites on my neck in the morning. Management moved me to another room, where I found evidence of bed bugs on the mattress. I left early and they refused to refund me for the remaining night.

The hotel room seemed clean and staff was friendly however, on May 7, 2019 my husband and I checked into Room 131. It was at least 10 PM and we were tired. I slept in the right hand double bed, while he slept in the left double bed. We left early on May 8th and I found my first bed bug bite on my chest however, I thought it may have been a tick bite since the mark was circular but it itched like crazy. Then the next day, I thought I was experiencing hives and there were welts on several areas on my arms. I called the hotel to report that I must have been bitten by bed bugs. Shane at the front desk said he would leave the message for the manager to return my call. I did not get any returned call. I immediately bought antihistamines to get this under control. I called back a week later and Shane said he gave the message to the manager and was sorry that he had not responded to me. He also said there was no manager on location. So I called the Choice Hotels Corporate Consumer Services because I don't want anyone else having this experience if they can help it. Without a response from the Manager, I did not think they took me seriously. I am still waiting to hear back that this has been taken care of. I could not find a local health number to make a report so I thought I would make one here. Choice Hotels offered me points to make up for the cost of the room. On Saturday 29 July my partner and I stayed in room 232. The next day we have notable bites that are consistent with bedbugs. The Choice Hotels booking service was notified and did not take down much information. In fact the call center staff were more interested in understanding if we were going to seek medical attention, they were stating it was local hotel operators responsibility. In addition we called the local hotel several times this morning and also last night for a different reason, but no one picked up the phone.
