Booked two nights through hotels.com after returning home, child had tons of sores/bites on his legs. Confirmed at Dr that it was indeed bed bug bites. They effect child more than adults because children have more of an allergic response to the protein the bugs have while feeding. Called to complain to hotels.com, who had to contact Sonny at Howard Johnson of Denton, TX. Who was very rude and disregarded the situation because his hotel has no bugs! Not even the slightest hint of possibly checking into my complaint. We had to miss work and treat our 5yr old, our home and vehicles for bed bugs, which is equivalent to getting rid of lice incase we had brought them home with us. Threw out mattresses, and did multiple loads of laundry, after treating and bombing our house and cars. Denton Tx County Health Dept will have to be the ones to make Sonny treat the hotel, to ensure no problems persist. It's a shame the hotel holds the Wyndham and Howard Johnson names, with no standards to follow.
