Bedbug Reviews

I checked into the room on a Wednesday night October 4, 2017. The room appeared very clean and in good condition. When I woke on the morning of October 5, I noticed raised bumps on the back of my legs. I got up out of the bed and open up the blinds. In the fold of the blinds I noticed a bug that looked like a tick. I knocked it down and stepped on it and put it on a tissue. When I began to look at the blinds some more I noticed more bugs in the folds of the curtains. At that time I call down to the desk, who then transferred me to the management of hospitality. I told them that I was concerned there was a tick problem in the room and that I wanted to be changed to another room and requested a manager to come to room 621 that I was in. As I waited for management I decided to investigate the bed a little bit more and pull back the sheets to find bugs scurrying about. When management arrived they showed the concern as well and offered immediately to get me to another room. There was no offer to treat my belongings until I made the request that my clothes be put through the dryer. At that time the manager said that would be no problem, and that they would take my things downstairs to put in the dry heat, as well as inspect and spray my bags. The cost of my room was reimbursed to my place of work, since they paid for the room, and I was there for business purposes. However, they still charged me for parking. The manager Alyssa also sent up a bottle of wine to my new room. Nice gesture but the bug bites and the physical allergic reaction that my body went through because of these bites was not worth a bottle of wine!

Bumps began to appear all over body. Red, itchy, pest control company confirmed that there was positive tests for bed bugs in that room. When calling and being told “ the test was negative”, I requested the report from the pest control service that they hired for tests. Now, all of the sudden there is confusion and the manager “Leo” confirms that the test, in fact, was positive for bed bugs after denying it the first time. Another member of my party got them as well. He was on the tenth floor, I was on the seventh. Another member of my party stayed in the Omni villas. These are condo like villas next door to the resort property. This member of my party also has bed bug bites covering her body. This place is obviously infested since it was an issue at both locations on property ( July 19-24). Having bed bugs, then trying to lie about it??? Not acceptable. They seemed very passive about this issue. My first impression of this resort was good, but I am now dealing with the reprecutions of their lack of cleanliness. A review posted in 2014 reporting bed bugs as well. This seems to be a recurring problem.

We stayed at Omni for mothers day weekend 5/10/24-5/13/24... however we left after the first night due to bed bugs. Our rooms were connecting. My mom woke up in her room at 2 am covered in bed bugs. They were all over the sheets and crawling up the walls. I thankfully could not find any in my room (920), but I assumed the infestation had spread since they were connecting. The staff was very rude and acted like we made everything up. We had picture and photo evidence and they still sent someone up to find evidence of bed bugs. For such a nice resort we were shocked at the customer service. We demanded a refund and left. My mom has still not received a refund and its been over a week.

I stayed at the Omni on Sept 28, 2024. I woke up with bites the first couple mornings and inspected the bed area for bed bugs. I couldn't find evidence, so I chalked it up to mosquitos. On the third morning, I had bites again and saw a bed bug crawling in the bathroom. I was able to transfer the bed bug to the tub where I took a close-up picture and confirmed it was a bed bug. I told the manager who came and inspected with housekeeping. They first tried to deny it and said it was likely a potato bug. When I pushed back, they said that they would call Terminix to inspect. I was moved rooms to another one on the same floor. Upon my request, my luggage was treated in an oven before it was sent to the new room. I was not given an update for 2 days and finally asked the front desk. They confirmed that Terminix found evidence of bed bugs, but "they only found one more". Based on the amount of bites my wife and I had, that was obviously not true. They said that my entire stay would be comped and apologized. I asked for the Terminix report for my records. I did not receive report until I called asking for it the next day. When they eventually sent it, they inadvertently sent me the report of another room on the same floor from the same day. This hotel obviously has an outbreak and it's likely due to the fabric headboards that are used.
