Bedbug Reviews

On 6/8/2018, at approx 16:45, checked into hotel, was assigned room 139. Initially the room appeared to be ok. However, we discovered the floor to be dirty & sticky, the bed was horribly uncomfortable, and next morning found 2 spiders in the bath towel, plus the A/C failed at maintaining a cool temp throughout the night. The next morning 6/9/2018, Reported these problems to the hotel clerk and requested a better room; after 4 hours , the clerk assigned us a new room, #130. We moved our belongings to #130. Approximately 30 minutes later discovered the bites on both arms. Regretfully, stayed the evening in room #130, then on 6/10/2018, discovered additional bites, located on both legs.

I checked in on October 14th and checked room for bedbugs best I knew how. Had some bites on my arm the morning of 16th and thought we'd let a mosquito in. More bites the next morning so I searched room thoroughly for a mosquito but couldn't find one. Woke up in middle of night the 17th with a very fresh bite on my hand. I took the mattress off and captured a small bug. Took the bug down to the desk, showed my bites to clerk and requested a different room. She moved me to a suite, room 119 and it smelled moldy but I didn't want to move again. The morning of 18th, I went to desk and asked for trash bags to seal our luggage due to bed bugs. Started leaving messages for management on the 21st of October and nobody would return my calls for several days. Eventually I caught the assistant mgr. and asked for a refund of my stay and something for the suitcase I threw out. She told me that their people had not followed their bed bug policy, my suitcase and clothes should have been quarantined until it could be treated and I should have been sent to a clinic to have my bites examined. After she talked to her boss, she called me back and offered a refund of 1 night, which I refused. I then called the county health department on the hotel and reported the bed bugs. The hotel had supposedly done and inspection but didn't find any however the health department did and shut the room down for 30 days pending another inspection after two treatments. I continued to leave messages for the manager over refunding my money and she never returned my calls for a month. I went to the hotel after a month and met with the assistant mgr. that I'd talked to on the phone. She said she was sorry but there was nothing more she could do because I'd called the health department on them. Some guy above her pay grade came around the corner and heard part of our conversation and agreed to finally refund 3 of the 4 nights but nothing for my suit case or all the time/trouble. I probably should have contacted a lawyer but I was tired of the whole thing.
