My name is Troney and I’d like to make you aware of an incident that took place at The Hilton Garden Inn Addison. I stayed at this facility this past week 2/17-2-19 for a business trip, for a total of two days. I stayed in room 522 and during the second night I was awaken to being bitten by a bed bug on my chest. I then looked at my sheets and realized there were more than one in my view. I got up right away and started recording in disbelief. Shortly after, I proceeded to head to the lobby where I requested a different room. (I would have stayed at a different hotel but this began at 12:45am on 2/19 and I was extremely tired) The following day I spoke with the GM in the lobby and made her aware of the situation and she stated “I called Eco Lab and they are aware and will be out to inspect the room to confirm.” I then showed her the video and told her I was 99.9% sure that bed bugs were all over the bed I slept in. I’ve never had to deal with bed bugs but Google was my best friend. She voiced her concerns and told me they would comp the room, give me 5k in honor points and clean my clothes. During this whole time they continued to check in guest in and even asked me to lower my voice so others couldn’t hear what the conversation was about. After letting her speak, I voiced my concerns for my personal property as well as company property in the case of loss or damaged property. Very little concern was expressed about replacing the items. Eco Lab showed up shortly after 2pm the same day. After doing their inspection, it was determined and confirmed that bed bugs were in my room. I have since contacted the Village of DuPage Health Department and addressed my concerns with the stay. I have also contacted the HQ of Hilton but they said I would have to take the matter up with the hotel directly. My goal here is to make the pubic aware of the situation and shed light on the hotel given how poorly they failed to properly follow up with me directly besides sending me two emails apologizing about the situation.
