Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

BEWARE OF BEDBUGS AND DIRTY ROOMS. Was in Troy to visit family over the holiday weekend (12/24-12/26/2021). My husband and children were bit up by bedbugs. The room was extremely dirty, there was old blood stains on the sheets. Actually have a pic of a bedbug crawling on the sheets. Update: 8 days later, finally able to speak with the GM K over Hampton inn Troy. Literally called multiple time with no call back from anyone at the hotel, said that there was no bedbugs after they did an inspection. But when I spoke with another employee earlier today over the phone they told me that room 217( the room we stayed in) was no longer in use because of bedbugs. When I say this hotel is nasty it's an understatement. When I asked for her bosses name and number she refused saying he works out in the field and can't be reached... I will definitely be following up with corporate.
