On 8-6-24, At approximately 1300 hours I was informed that room 107 had bed bugs and that the rooms heater was maxed out for the last two days to kill them and housekeeping was to go to THAT room (surrounding rooms were still available for patrons) and make it up so it was ready for patron use. Several dead bed bugs were personally seen. But under the mattress of the first bed in that room I noticed a burnt or old blood color stain on the bottom side of the mattress. It honestly looked like old blood or rust. When asked if it had gotten burnt at some point or if it was old blood (possibly concentrated bed bug poop,but doubt it), the maintenance man while in front of my supervisor, TOLD ME IT WAS BODY FLUID. Neither told me what kind or how old. Housekeeping was just supposed to make the room ready. They didn't even put a zippered mattress protector on it ! I do not believe this situation was handled properly or to any city code. I'm not aware if any other patrons were notified. I was embarrassed, disgusted and I was just hoping I didn't bring any bedbugs home with me.
