When I got up in the morning, I saw a dead bedbug and one crawling around on the queen sized bed next to the one I was sleeping in. I had no bites and found none in the bed I was in. I reported it to the front desk immediately, and they sent security up to examine the room. The security agent collected two specimens and said I would be put into a new room. The head of security then arrived a few minutes later with keys to a new room (just down the hall -- I would have preferred another floor) and said they would be inspecting the room and seal it off if it was a positive confirmation. The hotel staff later contacted our group leader (we were there for meetings in the hotel) and offered to cover dry cleaning of my clothes and the cost of a new suitcase, and the night's stay would not be charged. The hotel responded appropriately for the situation by sealing the room and the two adjacent rooms.
