Checked into Ocean Pointe Suites -- Building 4/Bonefish on 7/12/2021. We were scheduled to stay 4 nights. #4402 is a 1 bed/2 bath condo on the 4th floor. That first night, my family and I were bit. We were bit on our upper arms and hands. I'm very sensitive to bug bites, and I was able to feel the last set of bites in the wee hours of the morning, so I immediately jumped up and turned on the light. I inspected the bed sheet and saw the tiny red/brown bug. I took a picture, and then decided to just capture the thing for evidence. I used a sani wipe to pick up the bedbug. Put the bedbug/sani wipe in one of the hotel wash towels and put the wash towel inside one of the clear basket liners (trash bag). I was not going to let anyone make me think I was imagining things. We put any clothes that we wore in the dryer, started packing our things up, and called to notify the front desk. They apologized, said I would be refunded any monies, and that maintenance would be there to check the space. A short while later, maintenance shows up and starts looking behind the pictures above the bed, behind the headboard, and a quick check of the sheets and mattresses. I watched him as he "inspected." He tells me he doesn't see any signs of bedbugs. Well, I said that I caught one of them. I held up the bag with the bedbug inside and gave it to him to "inspect." He took that bag, said "no!" and threw it onto the bed and made a beeline out of 4402. My family and I gathered our luggage and left. We should have known...Key Largo and Ocean Pointe Suites were looking like trash when we were driving in. Not at all like we pictured or imagined. Everything looked rundown. Inside the suite looked nice, but clearly that meant nothing. I'm done with FL!
