My fiance\' and I stayed at the La Quinta, Portland ME. for an extended stay. We asked to move our room for various reasons. We awoke to find blood smeared on the bottom and top sheets of the bedding. Our legs and other parts of our bodies were intensely itchy. We advised the front desk @ 300 AM one morning as we woke up as we were itchy. We were told that this would be reported to the mgr.and was logged. They moved us to another room but the biting of Bed Bugs continued. Also, we had discovered black fecal matter and the bed bug shedding of their shells that the bugs left by the bed bugs in the top dresser draw in our room. We also saw the same on the sheets. We both were seen by an urgent care and it was determined that it was bed bug bites on our bodies. We were advised to leave the motel, wash and dry all of our clothes and hot water and dry for 45 mins. and were written prescriptions for itch relief. The mgr. never did anything but intimidate us on the phone while we were still staying there by stating to us after I e-mailed him from the lobby computer about no response from him about the issue he decides to intimidate us by stating that if he has a pest control company come in and they don\'t find any bed bugs, then we will have to pay for the pest company\'s services. Not the way to treat guests especially after they had just spent $ 3000.00 in lodging expenses.
