December 30th, 2021 - Jan 2nd, 2022 Morning of the 31st we noted blood on the sheets that were not there when we went to sleep. We thought it had come from myself, maybe a scab or cuticle, hand - due to the fact that it was on my side of the bed. Jan 1st. woke up with what she thought were reactions to cough medicine. Bumps all over her arm and body. Again, she thought it was an allergic reaction to a new medicine she took on the night before. We check out of the hotel that morning as that was our planned departure date. Re-checked into the hotel at 10 pm for one more stay due to the weather. Stayed in the same room because my mom had lost some cloves during the drip and wanted a chance to look for them so we asked for the same room. The front desk said the room was available but had not been cleaned yet since housekeeping had not come in that day. We were ok with staying in the room since we were the last people in it. Jan 2nd. Both she and I woke up with bites. She woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. When she pulled her pants down a large red bug fell on the floor from the inside of her pants. She said it was gross but did not think more of it since it was 3 am. In the morning, when packing out bags, she noticed a red bug crawling the sheets of the bed. When we looked under the sheets, we discovered numerous 6+ bed bugs, which we photographed and documented. I went to the front desk to speak with a manager but the manager was not in yet. She would be in 30 mins. The staff asked what was wrong so I told them. They called the manager who instructed her to go up to the room and take photos. Her and another staff member came up right away and saw the live bugs on the bed. She took photos herself but I told her I would share the photos that I had taken. Emails went out at 10:24 with photos of the bites and videos of the bugs. I confirmed that the hotel staff had my contact information before checking out. I was told that the manager would contact me when she arrived. We put all our clothes in plastic bags and checked out of the hotel. Hotel has not contacted me.
