Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

October 19, 2017 - I awoke in the middle of the night to my neck, face, shoulder and hand itching madly. I knew that something had bit me and reached for my cell phone that has a flashlight. I found two bugs crawling quickly across my pillow. One was the size of an appleseed the other was a bit smaller. My sister grabbed a ziplock baggie from her makeup bag and we caught them both. We tried to call the hotel office but the phone in the room was completely dead. We took the bedbugs to the office and showed the manager on duty. Our room was compensated but had we not had the bedbugs in the baggie even with the bite marks we probably would not have been reimbursed for our stay.
